Keeping a Stiff Upper Lip, regardless...

Captain Fawcett's Museum Grand Opening

Posted on March 11, 2019 by Captain P. Fawcett

Captain Fawcett was delighted to welcome guests from all over the known globe to his simply splendid candle lit soiree this last Saturday evening. It is reported that a superb time was had by all.

It would be remiss of me if I were not to acknowledge the hard work that went into the putting on of this spectacular event, as such special thanks are due to the wonderful crew at Fawcett HQ.

It was a distinct pleasure to see a number of Captain Fawcett’s most excellent ambassadors; thank you to Carl-Johan Kellgren, Kim Johansen, Maxwell Newton, Russell Bristow, Pietro Grassilli, Herr Feldman, Glynn Woods, Arron Raw, Johnny Appleby and Penelope Taylor-Newton, all much esteemed guests who travelled to King’s Lynn from both near and far. Huzzah!

I was further delighted to greet Ricki Hall, Sid Sottung and Viraj Singh of The Jodhpur Company, the well-known characters behind some of our beloved Signature Series.

It was an absolute honour to have played host to some of Captain Fawcett’s hailed distributors; thank you to Andreas of Germany, Fiona of Ireland, Juan of Spain and Francesco of Italy.

I should also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the most wonderful artistes and performers who put on such a splendid show that burst with both glitz and glamour. Thank you to the very special Miss Velma Von Bon Bon, the ravishing Miss Millie Dollar and the dashing Mr Edd Muir.  A huge shout out to ‘On the Level’ featuring our very own Corey Doades on guitar for their most excellent live performance… and one of course mustn’t forget to  make mention of the exceptionally skilled Scapicchio Barber Family who demonstrated their famed ‘Kamisori’ fixed blade shaved technique to great wonder and amazement.

A huge thank you to those responsible for keeping our esteemed guests fed and watered… most notably the  team from Mangiamo’s for their delicious wood-fired pizza, AJ Bars for their selection of tipple, Shefs for their hog roast and the chaps from Rok Soba who pitched up with their newly launched alcohol free ‘Zero Fear’ stout.

Last but certainly not least, thank you to Brandon Tool Hire and Dick Roper Entertainments and Mark from Rumours Entertainment.
