Curiouser and curiouser - the right hand man is on TV!
Gadzooks! My Right Hand Man is on the box! He has somehow found himself centre stage of a new vintage-themed BBC1 show called Curiosity.
Considering he says he only popped out for a packet of wine gums, this is indeed a curious turn up for the books.
The Right Hand Man’s starring episode airs at 2.15 on Wednesday 3rd April. The show will be screened every day at that time from today and for the next 3 weeks.
Esteemed TV antiques expert Paul Martin hit upon this excellent notion with his wife Charlotte before joining forces with Hungry Gap Productions in Bristol to create a jolly competitive challenge, hosted by Paul and a long suffering Bassett hound, Baxter, named after Paul’s own canine side-kick. Contestants’ knowledge of antiques and collectables will be put to the test, working against the clock to find fakes and discover the stories of intriguing treasures such as those in my Marvellous Barbershop Museum, for as you may well have guessed, my Right Hand Man will be exploring the World of the Barbershop.
A combination of vintage and social history is promised, with knowledgeable talk and an eccentric sense of fun. Why my Right Hand Man qualifies for such flattery is completely beyond me. It goes without saying that I taught him everything he knows and frankly he seems to have absorbed precious little. However, I shall of course tune in to investigate what on earth he’s been getting up to. I do hope this fame doesn’t go to his head, it’s quite full enough of nonsense already.
