Opening Times

Captain Fawcett’s Marvellous Barbershop Museum is open Monday to Friday, 10:00–17:00. Private visits, special occasions, cream teas and tours with the Right Hand Man may be arranged by appointment. Should His Majesty require a visit, the Captain will, of course, endeavour to oblige.

To ensure curiosity is satisfied, advance booking is highly recommended.

Accessibility

Please note the Museum is located upon the mezzanine level of Captain Fawcett’s working headquarters and access is via staircase only. Regrettably, there is no lift.

However, fear not! The Virtual Museum is free to all, open day and night, visible from every corner of the globe, no passport required. Huzzah!

Parking

There is limited parking on site but plenty of free street parking for those arriving by motorcar, motorcycle, Penny Farthing or pony & trap. Pogo sticks, stilts and skateboards may be accommodated inside HQ.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee is, of course, readily available. Should you wish to arrange a cream tea, Victoria sponge or sandwiches for a special occasion, do contact the crew at HQ to discuss your wishes or, indeed, wildest dreams.

Filming and Photo Shoots

Captain Fawcett’s Emporium and Marvellous Barbershop Museum offer a one-of-a-kind backdrop for film, photography, television and editorial shoots. An authentic treasure trove of barbering artefacts, dating back over four centuries the location houses period tableux, antique barber chairs, cabinets of elixirs, plus tonsorial antiques and collectibles. HQ as a whole is a living set, brimming with character, texture and eccentricity, ideal for period detail, documentary, advertising, fashion and creative campaigns alike.

Situated in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, the Captain’s Emporium is within easy reach by road or rail, with ample on-site parking and ground-level loading access for equipment and crew.
