Seasons change - late Summer Beard styling with Captain Fawcett

As August wanes and September’s cooler breath wafts gently in like fine wine and the glorious Summer of the Beard draws to a close, your vintage Beard needs a smooth transition from heatwave to harvest season. It’s the perfect time to sharpen your style, maintain protection, and prepare for the changing weather. All whilst keeping a delightfully debonair demeanour, ready for the the glory of Goodwood and other such seasonal delights.

(NB Captain Fawcett will be at Goodwood Revival from Friday 12th September to Sunday 14th September 2025. Do pop by and say how do!)

Tip Top Topiary

A tidy Beard trim with tightly defined edges is the name of the game now every-one is sharpening pencils and polishing school shoes. Not only does this help your whiskers breathe better as the days grow cooler and damper, it keeps your Beard looking intentional and downright determined! Pass the tuck box Carruthers, let’s break out mother’s Battenburg!

A change of Beard texture

Summer calls for fragrant Oils and Balms, but as the air cools, you may well want to spread some rich Butter for added softness and protection.

Autumn sun protection

Don’t retire your sun protection just yet. UV rays linger well into the golden days of autumn, so continue layering your Captain Fawcett Beard products with a decent SPF of your choice, to defend skin against the afternoon sun and winnowing wind.

Weatherproof your Beard

The transition season brings dew, colder wind and September rain. A well-conditioned beard resists the elements better, so don’t skimp on hydration. As if you would!

New season Beard tips

Now the sun is losing its most fierce heat, consider experimenting with a shorter length for a sharper, refined profile. A good Comb and precise trimming Scissors are essential tools for this. Or, delight your barber by rolling in and requesting a full seasonal restyle. Ring the changes chums!

The late summer Beard is the mark of a man who knows how to carry style through the seasons, relaxed yet resolute.
